Special Education needs policy/Disability Discrimination Policy

All children have different needs  and I will endeavour to make sure all children’s need are met.

Should a child have special educational needs or a disability I will work with the parent and any other agencies involved. This is to ensure that consistent care is given to the child which is paramount for their development.

Where necessary I will undertake training, and seek advice from other professionals to provide quality care.

I will provide children with relevant activities and play opportunities that promote their welfare and development.

The Equality Act 2010

I will not discriminate against a child or parent with a disability, and where possible will accept a child with a disability into my care. I will make a reasonable adjustment to my setting to facilitate the child’s needs.

Under the Equality Act I have a duty:

·        Not to treat a disabled child ‘less favourably’

·        To make ‘reasonable adjustment’ for a disabled child
